This online index only lists the individual, death date (if known) and reference page. We are creating a master index of everyone who is buried in this county and their burial location to aid researchers. We are especially in need of people buried here who have no stones or whose stones no longer exist. If you have any of this information or if you have additional information for anyone who is buried in this cemetery, please email the Warren County Genealogical Society.

Cemetery History

This landlocked cemetery is located on a wooded hillside with the remains of a wire fence surrounding it (and presumably defining the boundaries of the burial grounds). This property is located on the 900 acre tract in Military Survey 1546 where William Mounts and others established Mounts’ Station in October, 1795. The Mounts’ Station lands were bounded by what is now Zoar Road and Stubbs Mill Road on the west and east; by Route 22/3 on the south and the Little Miami River to the north. It is said that William Mounts (died in 1808) and his wife Catharine Elizabeth (Watson) Mounts (died 1818) were both buried in this cemetery in unmarked graves.

The 1882 Beers History of Warren County contains a number of biographical sketches which provide additional information about the Mounts Family.
See William P. Mounts (p. 953), James W. Mounts (p. 953), Lindsey Mounts (p. 953), William G. Mounts (p. 954) and Alexander L. Mounts (p.1060)
