This online index only lists the individual, death date (if
known) and reference page. We are creating a master index of everyone who is
buried in this county and their burial location to aid researchers. We are
especially in need of people buried here who have no stones or whose stones no
longer exist. If you have any of this information or if you have additional information for anyone who is buried in
this cemetery,
please
email the Warren County Genealogical Society.

Cemetery History |
Little is known about the burials on this farm. The farm was owned by the Lefever family from 1805 through 1884. A Peter Lefever bought 50 acres in the NE part of the West 1/2 of Section 28 on 20 April 1805 (Warren County Deeds Vol. 1:267). This Peter Lefever sold the property the following year to an Elias Lefever (1770-c1854) who was probably his brother. The farm remained in the Lefever family until sold by Elias' daughter-in-law Martha (Irons) Lefever to a Mary M. Loer on 28 Oct 1884 (Warren County Deeds Vol. 63:610). Martha Lefever was the widow of Peter Lefever (1812-1868) A farm pond was built near the burial site in the late 1950s. Current owner recalls more stones at the burial site at one time. When filling the pond back in at a later date, a bulldozer accidentally broke up the burial site as well. The remaining stones & fragments that were recovered have been placed by an evergreen tree. The current location of the stones is not where the cemetery was originally located. |
