Location:

 Located in a wooded area on PRIVATE PROPERTY at 5620 Long Spurling Road.  From Pleasant Plain, 2/3 miles SW on State Route 132 to Long Spurling Road (TR 171), then left about 640 feet SE on Long-Spurling Road to driveway on left.  The cemetery is about 300 feet NE of the road in a wooded area behind the barn.

Cemetery History

 This "farm" cemetery contains two known gravestones: one for a Philip Stump; the other for the child Johnson Stiles.  Previous readings mention a field stone marking an additional grave.  It is not known if other burials were made at this location. On the 1867 Warren County Ohio Map, this cemetery is in the far east corner of a 200 acre parcel owned by M. Soth. The farming lane you enter to get to the cemetery is directly across from Long Spurling Rd. before it shifts.  The cemetery is located in a overgrown wooded area close to the farming field on the right side not far from the land.  From the tombstone you can see a red house directly across the wooded area.

    • This cemetery is not included in any of the cemetery books published by the society.  Chelsea Burns, Zoe Graham, Erin Hawley, Lauren Howell, Marissa Krutraup and Audrey Obholz of Girl Scout Troop 1594 photographed the only extant gravestone in August of 2005 and have contributed the photo to the "Warren County Virtual Cemetery Project." The photo can be viewed at the Warren County OHGenWeb Project and their efforts will be incorporated into the new cemetery books planned by the society.
