The District Court existed from 1852 to 1983 and was the appellate court for the Common Pleas Court.  It composed of a Supreme Court Justice and several Common Pleas Judges from the District.  The Court had the same jurisdiction as the Supreme Court and appellate jurisdiction as provided by law.  The court was not very effective due to the frequent absence of the Supreme Court Justices.  The District Court kept the following records:

• Index to Bar Dockets
• Index to Trial Dockets
• Journals
• Jury Records
• Witness Records

The Ohio Historical Society has the District Court General Index for Warren County on microfilm from 1852-1875.
