The Municipal Courts in Warren County have limited jurisdiction over certain types of cases including criminal cases such as civil offenses less than $15,000 and criminal cases if the sentence is less than one year. Criminal cases might include criminal violations of township resolutions, violations of municipal ordinances, some parking violations and misdemeanor crimes committed within its boundaries. They sometimes also handle preliminary hearings for felony criminal cases. Civil cases might include actions for the recovery of money or personal property, contract cases, collection actions, forcible entry some nuisance cases, civil ordinance violations and certain temporary protection orders. There are three municipal courts in Warren County as follows: Franklin, Lebanon and Mason.
