Land records can provide familial relationships through legal documents such as deeds. Sometimes these are the only records in existence to prove such relationships. The Warren County Recorder’s Office has one of the best and most organized systems for filing land records in the state. Properties can be searched by surname, by parcel number or by street address. Records are available from 1799 before Ohio was a state to the current date.
Grantor and Grantee Indexes exist for Warren County deeds. WCGS has indexed these records from 1799-1832 for both the grantor/ grantee and grantee / grantor indexes. A surname index is available on the WCGS website and copies of these indexes are available in our library on our shelf.
