The Oswald Funeral Home was established at a location on the east side of South Broadway about a half block south of the town hall in Lebanon, Ohio in 1860 by John Oswald as an extension of his furniture Company. Sometime after World War II, the business was moved to their present location on East Mulberry Street, in the former home of Dr. Robert Blair.
The business was purchased by Jim & Joanne (Vale) Hoskins from the Walker family in 1986 and is now operated by their daughter, Jennifer Hoskins-Long.

Oswald's Funeral Home Records
1867-1890, Indexed, abstracted and available for
purchase in book form
1890-1907, Indexed, abstracted and available for
purchase in book form
These books generally provide the name of the deceased, age, kinship, cause of death, date of death or funeral and burial location but the information available for a specific entry varies greatly. Collectively, the two volumes provide information on 3,723 funerals. A combined index to these records is on line from the links below.
Copies of the original funeral home records from 1867 to 1980 are available at WCGS. Thank you to LaVonne Smith, Vicki Bergerhouse & Faith Peel who copied and indexed these records. We have copied and indexed the following records in our library for a total of 12,563 funerals. For deaths after 1980 please contact the funeral home directly.
